From first tracks at sunrise to skiing under the stars, snowshoe adventures, ski touring, freestyle, paragliding and more, our activities invite you to experience the mountains differently. Led by our instructors, guides and trusted mountain professionals, each experience is shaped by the resort, the conditions and the terrain around you.

Unique Oxyski experiences

Each resort has its own personality - and its own adventures. Some of which begin either before the lifts open or when the slopes fall quiet.

MoonlightWhen the lifts stop, the mountain changes. Head back onto the snow after dark and experience the slopes in a completely different atmosphere. Under the moonlight, with the resort glowing below, enjoy an evening on skis with an Oxyski instructor and discover the mountain long after the daytime crowds have gone.

First TracksHead into the mountains in the quiet of the early morning with an Oxyski instructor and enjoy a completely different atmosphere before the ski area gets busy. Depending on the resort and format, you may skin up, access the mountain early or follow a specially planned route before enjoying some of the first turns of the day.

Superluge Derby3, 2, 1… go! Swap your skis for a sledge and get ready for a very different kind of descent. The Superluge Derby takes you down 450 metres of vertical drop on a specially designed sledge, with your Oxyski guide leading the way from start to finish. Fast, fun and best enjoyed with friends, it’s around 1.5 hours of pure mountain entertainment once the pistes begin to quieten down.

MoonbikesElectric. Lightweight. Seriously good fun. Discover La Plagne and Belle Plagne after the lifts close on a 100% electric Moonbike. Lighter, quieter and easier to handle than a traditional snowmobile, these compact snow bikes are made for carving through the snow once the pistes have emptied.

You might prefer to head off-piste on touring skis, explore snowy forests on snowshoes, or even discover the mountain from your own tandem ski seat with one of our instructors.

Snowshoe ExcursionsStep away from the pistes and discover a quieter side of the mountains on a guided snowshoe adventure. Follow snowy trails, explore peaceful forests and take in incredible Alpine views with one of our local instructors or guides.

Freestyle skiing or snowboardingTurn the mountain into your playground. Freestyle is all about creativity, confidence and control. Whether you’re skiing or snowboarding, your Oxyski instructor will help you develop the technique to tackle jumps, boxes, rails, moguls and park features with more style and confidence. From your first tricks to more technical lines, every session is adapted to your level, your goals and the terrain available on the day.

Cross-country skiingSlow it down, pick up the pace, or do a bit of both. Cross-country skiing is a brilliant way to explore the quieter side of the mountains, away from the lifts and busy pistes. Glide through snowy forests, follow dedicated Nordic trails and discover a completely different way to move through the winter landscape. Whether you’re trying it for the first time or looking to improve your technique, our qualified instructors can help you progress in classic or skating style.

Tandem SkiTandem skiing lets you experience the slopes from the comfort of a specially adapted sit-ski, with an Oxyski instructor in control. Sit back, take in the views and enjoy the feeling of gliding through the mountains without having to ski yourself.

Ski touring or splitboardingLeave the lifts behind and discover a different side of the mountain. Ski touring and splitboarding take you away from the pistes, climbing under your own power before enjoying the reward: the descent. Whether you’re trying touring for the first time or looking to explore further, an experienced Oxyski instructor or guide will choose an itinerary to suit your level, the conditions and the mountains around you.

Harness the wind with snowkiting, combine skiing and flying with speed riding or take in the Alps from above on a tandem paragliding flight.

SnowkitingHarness the wind and discover the mountains in a completely different way. At the Col du Lautaret, snowkiting combines skiing or snowboarding with a kite, using the wind to travel across wide open snowfields beneath some of the most impressive peaks in the Southern Alps.

Speed ridingWhen skiing meets flying! Speed riding combines skiing with a small wing, letting you glide, skim and briefly lift above the snow as you move down the mountain. At Le Grand-Bornand, it’s a completely different way to experience the terrain — fast, technical and seriously good fun. Whether it’s your first time under a wing or you’re looking to progress further, your instructor will adapt the session to your level and the conditions on the day.

ParaglidingSee the mountains from a whole new angle. Take off on skis or a snowboard and leave the pistes behind on a tandem paragliding flight with a qualified pilot. From snowy peaks to sweeping valley views, it’s a chance to experience the Alps from somewhere completely different: the sky. Choose a smooth, scenic flight or add a little more adrenaline with steeper turns and manoeuvres. Your pilot adapts the experience to you.

Our activities are led by qualified Oxyski instructors, guides or trusted specialist professionals. They know the mountain, the terrain and the conditions - so you can focus on enjoying the experience.
We’ve got the equipment.
Headlamp, sledge, transceiver, wing or snowshoes: any specialist equipment specific to the activity is included. You’ll just need your own skis and helmet. Or depending on the resort, you can even hire them from our Oxyski Ski Shop.
Every ski resort is different.
And that is exactly the point! Our 16 ski schools each offer a selection of experiences chosen around their local terrain, conditions and expertise. Some activities are available across several resorts; others are unique to one particular corner of the Alps.

Do I need to take lessons with you?

No. Activities are booked on their own, or in the same basket as your lessons and rental.

Are the activities the same everywhere?

No, on purpose: each resort offers what its terrain does best. Snowkiting needs wind, the Superluge a dedicated track.

How do I book an activity that is not online?

On your resort's page, the « Ask for a date » button opens a message to the school with the activity and your dates. The school answers within the day.

Can we come as a family?

Often. Each page says from what age and level. The Superluge, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing are open to all.
