Leave the lifts behind and discover a different side of the mountain. Ski touring and splitboarding take you away from the pistes, climbing under your own power before enjoying the reward: the descent. Whether you’re trying touring for the first time or looking to explore further, an experienced Oxyski instructor or guide will choose an itinerary to suit your level, the conditions and the mountains around you.

Tandem skiing lets you experience the slopes from the comfort of a specially adapted sit-ski, with an Oxyski instructor in control. Sit back, take in the views and enjoy the feeling of gliding through the mountains without having to ski yourself.

Turn the mountain into your playground. Freestyle is all about creativity, confidence and control. Whether you’re skiing or snowboarding, your Oxyski instructor will help you develop the technique to tackle jumps, boxes, rails, moguls and park features with more style and confidence. From your first tricks to more technical lines, every session is adapted to your level, your goals and the terrain available on the day.

We booked 3 private lessons during the last week of the season and it exceeded all of our expectations! Our instructor Nathan was extremely patient, easy going, friendly, encouraging and above all professional.
A fantastic week for our children with the best ski instructor. Tom took them on so many adventures, every morning they were ready to go for their lessons!
We used Oxyski Ski & Snowboard School last year in Val Thorens, and that positive experience is exactly why we insisted on booking with them again this year. Highly recommended.
At 2,300 metres, Val Thorens sits at the highest point of the Three Valleys, with easy access to Les Menuires, Méribel, Courchevel and beyond. Its high-altitude location means excellent snow conditions and a long ski season, while the surrounding peaks offer some of the most impressive views in the French Alps. With a huge variety of terrain right on your doorstep, there’s plenty to explore whatever your level.

“What we love most about teaching in Val Thorens is seeing each skier progress and gain confidence in such an incredible ski area. We take the time to understand each skier and what they want to achieve, whether they’re joining one of our small groups or booking a private lesson. For us, the most important thing is that every skier feels comfortable, confident and enjoys their time on the mountain – the technique follows.”
Get up early and ride the first lift up, then head to Tête Ronde to carve through perfectly groomed morning snow before the crowds arrive.

A classic stop in a chalet full of authentic Savoyard charm.
End your day with a few dance moves on the terrace, soaking up the last golden colours of the afternoon.
Time to meet your instructor! Our ski and snowboard school meeting point is right on the snowfront, at the foot of the Tourotel residence and just in front of Hôtel Fahrenheit Seven. Look out for the Oxyski flags, our instructors and plenty of big smiles – you can’t miss us!
