The activity.

A small wing overhead, skis on your feet: you descend the slope alternating gliding and short flights, skimming the snow. Speed riding is the feeling of flying without ever really leaving the mountain.

The instructor teaches inflation, wing control and the first take-offs on a gentle slope, over a half day or a full day. Gear is provided, insurance is taken out on site.

  • Adults, comfortable on a red run.

No flying experience needed, good ski technique yes.

  • Half day or full day.

A private lesson, or a group of two to five.

  • Wing and harness provided.

Bring your ski gear without poles, your lift pass and the on-site insurance.

The format and the length vary by resort: they are chosen at booking.

Speed riding

How it goes.

A small group, an instructor, and how a typical outing unfolds.

  1. Inflation

On the flat, you learn to raise the wing, feel it and lay it down. Without skis, first.

  2. First glides

Skis on, on a gentle slope: the wing lifts a little, the skis still touch. You repeat until it feels natural.

  3. First flights

A few metres above the snow, then a few dozen. The instructor on the radio, the mountain all around.

Good to know.
