Our adult group lessons are designed for all levels, from complete beginners finding their feet on the piste to experienced skiers and snowboarders looking to explore more challenging terrain. Whatever your goals, our instructors will help you build confidence, improve your technique and make the most of the mountain.

With fewer skiers to look after, our highly qualified Oxyski instructors can give everyone more individual attention, adapting their teaching to help you build confidence and progress at your own pace. Smaller groups also mean less waiting around, easier movement around the mountain and more time spent skiing.
Whatever your age or level, our instructors are here to help you progress, build confidence and get the most from your time on the mountain.
At the start of your first lesson, your instructor will check your level and adjust the group if needed. Our priority is to make sure you’re skiing or snowboarding with others of a similar ability, so you can progress with confidence and enjoy every moment on the slopes.
Everyone starts somewhere. If you’re completely new to skiing, our instructors will help you build confidence, learn the basics and develop your technique at a pace that feels right for you. With clear guidance, plenty of encouragement and a relaxed approach, you’ll soon feel more comfortable on the slopes and ready to take your next step.
In Serre Chevalier: morning or afternoon options are available depending on the resort and the week you are visiting.
Our ski school meeting point is conveniently located on the snow front in Le Monêtier-les-Bains. Just look out for our Oxyski flags and our instructors in their distinctive blue and orange uniforms – you won’t miss us!

Who for. Never skied, or a few hours
Goal. Snowplough turns on green and easy blue runs.
How it runs. Morning 9:00-11 in low season, Morning 9:00-12 or 13 in mid and peak season, 5 or 6 days, up to 6 people. Starts on Sunday or Monday.

Who for. 1 week of skiing, snowplough turns
Goal. Bring the skis parallel, progress on blue runs.
How it runs. Morning 9:00-11 in low season, Morning 9:00-12 or 13 in mid and peak season, 5 or 6 days, up to 6 people. Starts on Sunday or Monday.

Who for. 2–4 weeks of skiing, first parallel turns
Goal. Parallel turns mastered on blue and easy red runs.

Goal. At ease on red runs, first black runs.

Goal. First turns, flat-ground tricks and riding the lifts on your own.

Who for. At ease on easy blue runs
Goal. Comfortable on blue and easy red runs; carving, switch riding and a first look at the snowpark.

Goal. Master carving, ride switch on all terrain, progress off-piste and in the snowpark.

Take your skiing or snowboarding to the next level with a private lesson tailored to you. Available across all disciplines and in all our resorts in the French Alps.
Choose between a one-hour, two-hour or half-day session, either one-to-one or shared with a brother, sister or friend. They’re ideal for a gentle introduction, boosting confidence, working through a tricky step or simply making the most of your time on the slopes.

A helmet, a lift pass for the ski area, gloves, goggles and sun cream. Skis, snowboards and boots can be rented from the Oxyski shop in your ski resort or from one of our equipment hire partners.
No. Our Discovery level is designed for complete beginners who have never skied before. You’ll be learning alongside others who are starting from the same place.
Choose the level that best matches your ability today. At the first session, your instructor will check your level and move you to another group if needed, at no extra cost.
In some of our resorts, we offer a Beginner Pack that can include your lessons, equipment hire and lift pass. Booking everything together means you can benefit from a better-value package price.
If you and your partner are at different levels, you’ll each join the group that best matches your ability. Lessons can still take place at the same time and meeting point. If you’d prefer to ski together, a private lesson is the best option.
You don’t need to be particularly fit, but being reasonably active and ready for a few hours on the slopes will help you get the most from your lesson. Your instructor will adapt the pace and breaks to suit the group. If there’s anything you’d prefer to avoid, just let them know at the start of your first lesson.
French and English are available in every resort. Depending on the resort, lessons may also be available in Dutch, Italian or Spanish. Let us know your preferred language when you book.
